It is CAPA's purpose to assist individuals with autism to maintain independent living situations. CAPA assists program participants to maintain close relationships with family as well as develop a variety of new relationships and friendships within their community.
In all its support services, CAPA will carry out program activities and interactions with participants with consideration and respect for their individual choices, their personal well-being, and their legal rights. We attempt to maintain an appropriate balance of protection and autonomy.
This is fostered through individualized instructional programs, daily routines, alternative communication systems, and positive behavior support plans as needed.
Adults with autism require specialized programs to achieve personal growth, independence, and integration into their communities.
Staff are caring people who understand autism and undergo extensive initial and on-going training in order to provide the best programs and services available to adults with autism and their families.
